Benefit Galifornia Blush Review

Benefit Galifornia Blush Review Benefit Galifornia BlushBenefit Galifornia Blush Review

Move over all other Benefit Blushes, theres a new one in town. I absolutely love my Benefit’s blushers, i tend to switch it up between Dandelion and Rockateur but Benefit Galifornia Blush has come along and changed everything!

The packaging takes inspiration from vintage Californian surfer girls and i must say it gets a thumbs up from me. Open up the box and you see a golden embossed aztec sun which totally gives you the feeling of the California sunshine an that of disney’s Tangled if you ask me! The Benefit Galifornia Blush is described as a golden pink blush, i find it more of a coral if I’m honest but with that i like it more. An easy to wear, natural, suit all coral with a golden shimmery overspray, which good news for those who aren’t that into shimmery blushes as it means the shimmery quality of this blush will quickly wear off after the first couple of uses. Now for me one of the best things about this blusher has got to be the fragrance, I’m not normally one to rave about the smell of a product; as well i just don’t normally like/get on with fragranced products but oh my Benefit Galifornia Blush smells beautiful – vanilla and grapefruit which makes it smell just like tropical summer days!

Like i said in the beginning of this post, Benefit Galifornia Blush has well and truly taken my top spot when it comes to blusher. It’s just perfect, the coral colour is super flattering, it stays put all day and it smells beautiful. Everything gets a tick in the box! Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara Review

Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara Rimmel Volume Shake MascaraRimmel Volume Shake Mascara

I find finding my ultimate mascara quite difficult, my short straight lashes tend to get weighed down really easily instead of the volumised/lengthend look promised by most mascaras but the new Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara water-gel like formula left me rather pleasantly surprised.

On first impressions the tube itself is shockingly heavy, which means travel with this mascara is out of the question. I put the weight down to the breakthrough, patented shaker system that refreshes the formula whenever needed. If the shaker system really does work, this could change mascara’s forever – no more dried up, unusable gloopy mascara’s left in our makeup drawers! The wand is quite small with natural bristles, i tend to find myself leaning towards the mascara wands with plastic applicators these days but i found the wand worked well for my short, straight lashes. The Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara makes my lashes look more volumised but i find it didn’t separate them very well. Throughout the day i did find it crumbled slightly, this didn’t bother me as most mascara’s i wear tend to do this, i touch my eyes a lot which is a habit i really need to get out off!

Overall, i don’t think I’ve found my holy grail mascara in the Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara but it is a good all round mascara which i have continued to use on a daily basis, I love the idea of the shaker system so hopefully that really does work, but only time will tell on that one! Get yourself the Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara for £8.99 at all Rimmel stockist or online here.

Rimmel Brow Shake Filling Powder Review

I’ve really started to look after my brows lately, proud of me? tinting them waxing them the lot! It’s safe to say my brows have never looked better. For day to day goings on I like my brows to look natural, with a soft arch, the whole bold “Instagram brow” really isn’t my thing but i do enjoy a slightly bolder brow if i have somewhere to go. So i was really excited to give the Rimmel Brow Shake Filling Powder * a go when they landed on my door step.

There are 4 shades available; light brown, medium brown, dark brown and soft black and what makes this product unique is the soft sponge applicator. It’s not like any brow product i’ve tried before. The sponge is quite thick which means application is quick but this does compromise precision and you certainly can’t create hair like strokes with it, so it’s definitely a product for those who like a much bolder brow. It’s said to be a 3 in 1 product to fill, define and line, so not only is this a brow product but you can also use this product as an eyeliner.

So my thoughts, i find it quite hard to get used to using a loose powder rather than a pressed one, I’m so used to being able to create hair like stokes and not being able to do that with the sponge applicator just seems weird to me. The powder is super pigmented so a little goes a long way, i’ve found there seems to be a lot of fall out and if you don’t have the steadiest of hands and catch the applicator on something while trying to apply the powder product flicks everywhere! A simple solution is to just tap off the excess powder before you begin to apply and that seems to do the trick.

For me i wish there where more shades available, hopefully something which Rimmel are working on. I do think the Rimmel Brow Shake Filling Powder is a product for those who love a much bolder brow, i quite enjoy using it along side my brow pencil so i can create a more natural finish. Application is super quick, the staying power is amazing, it doesn’t smudge or transfer so if you are a fan of bold defined brows i think you will love Rimmels latest offering!

Benefit They’re Real Double The Lip Lipsticks Review

L-R  lusty rose, revved-up red, pink thrills & flame game

Benefit have recently added a new lipstick range to their ever growing collection of products. They are the Benefit They’re Real Double The Lip Lipsticks and they are apart of the They’re Real range which i must say has quite the selection of items itself now. I picked up the Big Sexy Lip Kit as a Christmas present which includes 4 of the 8 shades available in a cute fun sized version.

The packaging is very similar to all of the They’re Real Range; Sleek, metallic and with a twist bottom to push up the product. The Big Sexy Lip Kit includes 4 fun sized lipsticks in the colours  lusty rose, revved-up red, pink thrills & flame game. Each lipstick is said to be an all in one lipstick and lipliner which is created to give visibly fuller looking lips, the custom teardrop tip defines your lip line while effortlessly filling in with lip colour at the same time meaning you could possibly even apply these lipsticks super easily without a mirror. I found that applying the lipstick was pretty darn easy (you just have to remember to turn it around for your bottom lip) The formula drys semi matte but also really creamy they feel really light on the lips and weren’t at all drying for my dry lips. I did find they didn’t last the 8 hours which was claimed but they lasted a good few hours so all i all i was happy.

Personally, i really love the idea! I’ve never been keen on lining my lips although its something which i need/like to do in order to make my lipstick look better so a product which makes this easier and basically does it for me is a winner in my eyes. I really like the formula and I’ve basically lived in Lusty Rose since i got it. I would love to try the other shades available so i think i may have to take a trip to benefit soon and treat myself, hopefully Benefit are also planning to add more colours to the range as i would love to see a real hollywood style red as flame game is a tad on the orange side.
