So its no secret I’ve been a little MIA recently on here, to apologise for that i thought i would share the PERFECT, Easter Cream Egg Rocky Road Recipe. It’s really super simply to make and requires no baking just a couple of ingredients and a mixing bowl and a hob!
What you will need:
- 150g Unsalted Butter
- 250g Dark Chocolate
- 150g Milk Chocolate
- 4tbsp Golden Syrup
- 150g Digestive Biscuits
- 180g Marshmallows
- 8 Cream Eggs
- More for decoration (optional)
To start of with melt your butter in a bowl over a pan of water on the heat (low heat) once the butter is about half way melted add in the dark chocolate and allow that to melt together also add in the milk chocolate and the golden syrup, continue to stir the mixture until everything is melted and well combined. Once everything is mixed together remove it from the heat.
Next take the digestive biscuits and crush them up into crushed up bite sized pieces i do this by popping them into a plastic sealable food bag and using a rolling pin to crush them up. Once the mixture has cooled a little add in the crushed up digestive biscuits, the marshmallows and the cream eggs make sure everything is coated in chocolate! YUM!
Finally Line your baking tray with grease proof paper, i used a square tin but you can use whatever dish you have lying around and pore in your mixture then just pop it into the fridge to set! I left mine about 4-5 hours before finishing off by cutting a cream egg in half and fixing it on top to serve! (be careful when cutting your cream eggs in half those things are slippery and i ended up with a finger injury!)
Do these not make the most perfect Easter treats? Will you be making Cream Egg Rocky Road this Easter?
Nutella, Nutella… I am clearly obsessed with Nutella! I know nobody needs an excuse to eat Nutella it goes with absolutely anything and everything but while the days/nights are getting super cold now, I’m giving you an excuse to drink Nutella! Who can say no to that? Plus its a super quick and easy to make, so heres my Nutella Hot Chocolate recipe!
What you will need:
- 1 1/2 cup of Milk
- 1/4 cup of Nutella
- Whipped Cream
To start take the milk into a sauce pan and heat it up over a low-medium heat until warm, be really careful not to let the milk boil we just want to warm it up slowly. Next add in the Nutella and stir regularly with a whisk until all the Nutella spread has dissolved. Once all the Nutella has dissolved and your drink is nice and hot, pour it out into your cup/mug of choice. Now all thats left is to decorate with your whipped cream and marshmallows, or decoration of choice and there you have your super tasty Nutella hot chocolate! Just wait a few minutes before drinking as it will be super hot!
Will you be making Nutella Hot Chocolate during these dark nights?
If you’ve been following my baking/desert recipes or you follow my Pinterest account, it should be no surprise to you how obsessed i am with Nutella. I love love love it! So i thought seeing as i enjoyed my Oreo Cheesecake so much and how much i love Nutella, i would make a Nutella Cheesecake!
What you will need:
- 2 cups of Nutella
- 180g of Cream cheese
- 300ml of double cream
- 3 tbsp of icing sugar
- 250g of digestive biscuits
- 2 tbsp of butter
- a handful of chopped up hazelnuts
To start off with i made the biscuit base, i took the digestive biscuits popped them in a sealable food bag and just rolled over them with a rolling pin until they was all nice and crushed with no big chunks (they didn’t take long to do doing it this way!) Next i took the butter and melted it in the microwave making sure not to burn it, mix it in with the biscuits, then seeing as i decided to make a layered cheesecake split your biscuit mixture in half and press one half of mixture to the bottom of your cheesecake tin.
Moving on to the filling, take the Nutella, cream cheese & icing sugar and mix together with an electric mixer or whisk if you don’t have an electric mixer. In a separate bowl take the double cream and whip that up again either with a whisk or electric mixer until it doubles in volume once you’ve done that take your Nutella cream cheese mixture and fold it into your cream. As this is a layered cheesecake again take half of the mixture and pop it on top of the biscuit base already in the tin so you have a thin layer of the Nutella cream cheese mixture and pop that into the fridge or freezer for 20-30 minutes to set. Once it’s had a little while to set its time to move onto the next layers, and for that all you need to do is repeat the process again adding the rest of the biscuit mixture and finishing off with the rest of your Nutella cream cheese mixture. Once you’ve finished your layers pop it back into the fridge to set, i left mine over night just to be certain but it should be done after 4/5 hours in the fridge. Once you are ready to serve take a handful of hazelnuts, chop them up and sprinkle them over the top and you could also toast your hazelnuts if you wanted to and there you have it my no bake Nutella Cheesecake Recipe, you can change it up however you like keep it simple with 1 layer or go for it like i did and make it into a layered cheesecake!
Do you think you’ll be trying the nutella cheesecake?
I’ve been really enjoying sharing my baking/desert/treat recipes with you guys lately as well I’ve always had a real sweet tooth, so this week i decided to share with you my No Bake Oreo Cheesecake Recipe. It’s so simple to make and theres no baking involved (just a little bit of waiting which can be hard as you want to dig in right then and there!)
What you will need:
- Aprox 2 packets of Oreo Biscuits (308g)
- 2 tbsps of butter
- 180g of cream cheese/Philadelphia
- 300ml Double Cream
- 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 3 tbsps Icing Sugar
To start off with i made the Oreo crust base, i took 1 packet of Oreo Cookies into a bowl, took a rolling pin or anything you can get your hands on and crushed them up into tiny pieces, I also decided to leave in the filling to add in extra flavour. Once you’ve finished that, although if your anything like me will take you a rather long time to crush up those biscuits it’s time to add in the butter. Take some butter in a bowl and pop it into the microwave to melt it and add 2tbsps into your biscuits then press them to the bottom of your cheesecake tin then pop that into the fridge while you make the filling to give it a little setting time.
For the filling take the cream cheese and add 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract along with 3 tbsps of Icing Sugar and mix together with a whisk or electric mixer. In a separate bowl take the double cream and whip that up again either with a whisk or electric mixer until it doubles in volume once you’ve done that take your cream cheese mixture and fold it into your cream. Now its time to make it an Oreo cheese cake take the other packet of Oreo Cookies and place into a bowl (again i left in the filling for flavour) and crumble them up to however small you like them, i made them quite small so they are easy to eat but this bit is all down to personal preference, then all you need to do is fold those into you mixture too. To finish just lift your base out the fridge and add your finished mixture to it making sure you make it all nice and even. Then just pop it all back into the fridge to set, i left it over night just to be sure but after 4/5 hours it should be set.. and there you have it a quick and simple No Bake Oreo Cheesecake Recipe.
Do you think you’ll be trying out the Oreo Cheesecake?
It’s no surprise I’ve been a tad obsessed with Nutella lately, so i thought i would make some milkshake which incorporated Nutella, So if you fancy making yourself some Nutella Milkshake this week or this weekend as a little treat then heres how i made it.
What You Will Need:
- 1/2 cup Nutella
- 3 cups Vanilla Ice Cream
- 1 cup Milk
- Chocolate Sause/Hundreds&Thousands to decorate
To start off with mix the Nutella, Milk & Ice Cream together in a blender until blended smooth. Next place some chocolate sauce in a small dish and dunk the top of the glass which your going to be drinking or serving your milkshake in, and cover the top in hundreds and thousands. I also decided to put some chocolate sauce into the bottom and run a little down the side to add abit of oomph to my milkshake. Then i just poured my milkshake into my glass and added a very popular choice of the stripy straw and there you have it a Nutella Milkshake! This took about 10 minutes to make and tasted delicious, perfect for anyone who absolutely loves Nutella and/or loves milkshakes! I may have to try make a few more different flavours!
Are you a milkshake fan? What would be your favourite flavour?
