Soon as Urban Decay announced their latest palette, The Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette i just new i had to have it. The colours are right up my street so i set the launch date in my calendar – Then i heard about the pre sale and well that just made my week a whole lot happier! I could get the palette a lot sooner than i expected that morning i sat at my computer like i do most mornings but instead of doing my work like i should of been doing i was sat clock watching and constantly refreshing the link to the Urban Decay website to wait for the palette to become available!

So lets start with the packaging, the packaging keeps in theme with all the other Naked palettes, screams summer and so do the shades – burnt reds/oranges, coppers and metallics it’s everything you will need this summer. Everything about the packaging feels well made and it also comes with a huge useful mirror aswell as a double ended brush. Inside there are 12 shades; 7 mattes and 5 shimmer shades, i personally love the fact there are more matte shades in this palette as i think it makes it more wearable for everyday!

The shades are:
Ounce (ivory shimmer)
Chaser (light nude matte)
Sauced (soft terracotta matte)
Low Blow (brown matte)
Lumbre (copper shimmer w/gold pearl shift)
He Devil (burnt red matte)
Dirty Talk (metallic burnt red)
Scorched (metallic deep red w/gold micro-shimmer)
Cayenne (deep terra-cotta matte)
En Fuego (burgundy matte)
Ashes (deep reddish-brown matte)
Ember (deep metallic copper-burgundy)

Musing of a Makeup Junkie has also written an amazing review of the Naked Heat Palette and swatched the palette, she has a slightly darker skin tone to me so if you want to compare the swatches head over.

I’ve used it everyday since the postman brought it and well I’m in love. My favourite shades have got to be; Sauced, Low Blow, Lumbre and Scorched. Basically the whole middle section is beautiful and I think it’s safe to say this palette is going to be my go-to this summer. As for the formula i found when swatching the shades it took no effort to achieve colour pay off except with the colour Ounce (as you can probably tell from the swatches photo) and when it came to the shimmer shades BAYM they are just in your face shimmer! The shades are just absolutely perfect for the warmer months and as I’ve said they are right up my street. It’s just the perfect palette for if you love to create a burnt out smokey eye because the colours are just ideal!
