Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder – £18.50

Laura Mercier is fast becoming my go to brand! The Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation is my favourite high end foundation I’ve tried to date, so it’s no surprise i always get found stood browsing the counter!? For my 21st birthday which was some while ago now i asked for some more Laura Mercier products, one being the secret brightening powder.

At £18.50 it isn’t cheap for a powder, but the difference and brightness it has added to my under eyes is just really lovely! It comes in 2 shades names 1 & 2 (quite simple really) 1 is more translucent coloured suited for paler skin tones while the 2nd has more of a yellow tone to it suited for warmer skin tones, i was recommended the 1st one. I use it after my concealer to my under eye area, as a kind of setting powder to prolong the wear and cover hide circles, it feels super soft to touch and is almost weightless, it doesn’t crease and really does hide dark circles while prolonging the life of my products underneath it. It does have a slight shimmer to it but i find this settles into the skin nicely not at all looking glittery just making your under eyes appear more bright and awake.

Even though it is a pricey product you only need the tiniest amount, as i said i received mine for my 21st birthday which was July, and 7 months later the pot barely looks like I’ve used any! I use it with my real techniques setting brush i usually just pick up the remains from in the lid, not forgetting to tap off any excess, then i just lightly press it down onto my skin, very softly buffing in as i go along.
Do you an under eye setting powder like this?

  • I have got my eyes on this setting powder for quite a while now but i haven't quite decided whether to buy it yet or not as i think that there are a few dupes from brands like Bourjois and ELF that does similar things to this. I do like the brand Laura mercier because their products are really good – I love their tinted moisturiser and the mineral powder ^^.
I think i will wait for my birthday in march until i ask for this as a present or something :)

Thank you for the review~ I hope you have a nice day! <3

I don't have any brightening powders because I always worried they would only increase the appearance of imperfections. I don't think that's true now and reading blogs and watching tutorials has proved as much.

This sounds like a nice product to try, especially as I haven't tried any Laura Mercier products. They last a long, long time so the price isn't bad at all.

  • Ooh I love the sound of this! I would definitely try this because I hate my dark circles and always keep an eye for products that would brighten up the area xx

  • Ohh this powder sounds lovely! I have only tried the Laura Mercier primers and foundations but i think this is next on my list now :)
