Hey Everybody,

I’ve never actually used a translucent power until very recently, can you believe it?! It was only about 2 /3 months ago i went out and bought one, i just always thought how much difference can it really make to my make up routine, but if you haven’t tried it already, i urge you to go and buy one. It really does make a whole lot of difference in quite a few ways. For me personally i have never really had a problem with oily skin so it seems quite silly to to choose a matte powder, but the results are really nice. I apply it over the top of my foundation with my really techniques powder brush as its really big so it only takes a few seconds to apply, It blends in really well the only downside to this is it is supposed to be translucent which isn’t meant to give any colour payoff, but i do find that it makes my skin appear slightly more light/pale than when i choose not to use it, now it isn’t a deal breaker, i still use this powder because i like how it helps make my make up stay put and in place, although i would like to find one which is what it says… translucent.

Overall, the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder is a really good powder, it’s light in texture and it really does help to keep my make up in place, while controlling any shine (when i have it) i personally think i will love this powder more in summer than winter, For the £3.99 price tag i think it’s definitely worth every penny and i will defiantly be repurchasing!

Whats your favourite translucent powder?

  • I find the opposite with this powder. I actually think it makes me look a little more orange, but as you say, not a deal breaker, cheap and cheerful and it does the job :)

    • Oh really? How weird! Still it's not worth not using it over xxx

  • I have this it is so good! x

  • My powder is slightly coloured, I'm not entirely sure what colour but I defiantly don't notice it.

  • Yep, this product i have been using non stop everyday. So inexpensive yet so lovely to use and non cakey. I have the shade in translucent too and i find it ok for my skintone luckily~ I find that the ELF HD setting powder is really good for setting make-up although it can be a bit chunky and fiddly to use due to it's bulky packaging and the minimal control of dispensing the powder out.

Thank you for reviewing, its a lovely product. Have a lovely day <3

  • I love this stuff! It's a great product especially if you have slightly oily skin, helps the foundation stay matte- a real winner in my eyes xxx

  • I purchased this and used it a few years ago then used other products in the meantime just to try others out. Since reading blogs so many of you guys have said how fab it is (including Tanya Burr etc) so I'm going to have to re purchase! Unbeatable price tag!

  • I'm surprised you haven't tried this yet! I have this but with a colour and I love it, plus the price is a really bonus xxx

My favorite translucent powder used to be one made by Hard Candy but I have not seen it in any local stores for a very long time. I have heard great things about this one but I'm always apprehensive with Rimmel because their products have been so iffy for me in the past. I love the pattern they'd added to Stay Matte though. Very pretty.

  • I've only recently started using a powder, this one could be the next one on my list! x

  • I love this one, the Soap&Glory One Heck Of A Blot powder is great as well! xx
