Whats hot for 2013

Let’s face it — when it comes to reading the tea leaves for upcoming fashion, there’s no better bet than to follow the celebs. From Millie Mackintosh to the infamous Kardashian girls, there’s a lot to be gleaned about spring 2013 style from simply gushing over their photos. What did we find when we took a survey of today’s most alluring (and famous) fashionistas? Keep reading to find out.

Scaling peeks. From sheer materials to sexy cutouts, showing off just a little skin is in for Spring. Millie Mackintosh gave us all her own sneak peek last autumn when she wore a white minidress with oval cutouts near the neckline to the Samsung Galaxy Note launch party in August. This manages to be coquettish without going over the top because you can highlight your best feature–whether it is your neckline, your abs or your arms–by finding a garment that puts it on display while covering everything else.

White-hot and haute. Millie isn’t the only starlet that can turn heads with her fashion choices. At the very same Samsung Galaxy launch party, Kelly Brook became the talk of the town by donning an all-white frock that showed off her lovely curves. Braving risks of red wine stains and food spills, she worked her pristine glow with playfully tousled tresses, proving that keeping fashion simple is sometimes the best way to make a big statement.

Getting lost in Bermuda shorts. Dubious life choices aside, Kim Kardashian has always had an impeccable taste in style. And when it comes to bermudas, she just may have been on the very cutting edge of fashion, since she’s been sporting them since 2011. The modern take on these usually unflattering shorts is that they are cut looser so that you can play up the “boyfriend” fit with girly heels and a feminine blouse. When you search for a pair of your own, try finding them in super stylish denim from J Brand.

Waterfall inspiration. Miranda Kerr knows all about this trend; she even strutted the runway blanketed in it for David Jones’ latest fashion show, which took place in Sydney, Australia on February 6. Finding cool blues, blue gradients or water prints will help keep you cool this spring while evoking a sense of serenity for all who are lucky enough to catch a glimpse of you.

Emerald city style. Just days before sharing the joyous news of her pregnancy with the world, Kate Middleton sported an alluring emerald green Mulberry dress to the opening of the Treasures Gallery at the Natural History Museum in London last November. The shade has also been named by Pantone as the colour of the year, ensuring that many designers will follow suit. And with spring already on its way, you won’t have to wait until St. Patrick’s day to get your hands on green.
